GIVING BACK

Made by hand.
Made to help.

Some pieces carry more than a memory. Over the years, Slightly Choppy has used its craft to raise funds, honor local heroes, support communities in times of need and stand up for the coastlines that inspire us.

Ben Carlson Memorial & Scholarship Foundation

Through the Ben Did Go Flag, proceeds have helped support the foundation established in honor of fallen Newport Beach lifeguard Ben Carlson. We also create the official Paddler Flag for the annual 30-mile Ben Did Go fundraising paddle.

Maui Relief

I traveled to Lahiana and Kaanapali as a young kid with my Mom after my parents were divorced and it was the most magical place on earth. Since she has passed, all the places she took me to have very special meanings, so when the fires happened 3 years ago, I had to do something to help. We raised over $12,000 to donate to the Maui Strong Fund and we are so proud to do so.

Los Angeles Fire Relief

When fires devastated communities across Los Angeles County, we created a limited collection of Los Angeles flags. All proceeds supported response and disaster-relief efforts through Community Brigade of LA and the American Red Cross.

Surfrider Foundation

We created a limited series of handmade flags for Surfrider Foundation’s United States and Oceans of America campaign—using art to spark conversation and encourage action for the oceans, waves, beaches and lakes we all share.

Junior Guard

For the past ten years, Slightly Choppy has proudly supported the Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard Foundation because we believe these programs prepare kids not only for the ocean, but for life.
