Giving Back
At Slightly Choppy, giving back is woven into what we make. Over the years, our handmade flags have helped raise funds, honor local heroes, support communities in times of need, and protect the coastlines that inspire us. Through the Ben Did Go Flag and annual paddler flag, we’ve supported the Ben Carlson Memorial & Scholarship Foundation; following the Maui fires, we raised more than $12,000 for the Maui Strong Fund; and our limited Los Angeles collection supported Community Brigade of LA and the American Red Cross.
Our work has also supported Surfrider Foundation’s United States and Oceans of America campaign, using art to encourage action for the waters and coastlines we all share. For the past ten years, we’ve proudly supported the Newport Beach Junior Lifeguard Foundation and its mission to prepare kids not only for the ocean, but for life. Each effort reflects our belief that handmade art can celebrate the places we love while helping the communities connected to them.
