Up until the breakwater was constructed in 1966, local Dana Point surfers enjoyed the right-hander that came to be known as “Killer Dana”. Rolling in from deep, open water and formed along the rocks it was known to come alive on a solid south - the only spot that would hold swell over 12 feet.
This hand-made flag uses a washed soft yellow canvas with black hand-screen print and painted tip. Each flag is topped with a natural twine + twill tape and stamped with Slightly Choppy branding.
Colors: Yellow, black and tonal off-white
Size: 12" x 20", give or take...
Gift for my best friend whose name is "Dana." The craft is flawless and the hand rendered typography is spot on. I'm a framer, and can't wait to shadowbox this piece and send it off East (Long Island.) Thanks again.
The flags were perfect for my decorating purposes. They truly look as if I found them in an antique store - or my parents’ attic! Great product!
My husband was shocked when he opened his gift at Christmas. Memories of surfing killer Dana when he was in high school came flooding back! He graduated HS in 66 so this flag was very poignant for him. The quality of your craft was beyond my expectations, my husband actually thought I found an original flag! Thank you!!
