Up until the breakwater was constructed in 1966, local Dana Point surfers enjoyed the right-hander that came to be known as “Killer Dana”. Rolling in from deep, open water and formed along the rocks it was known to come alive on a solid south - the only spot that would hold swell over 12 feet.

I am a football pennant guy from the 1960s and 70s. We had many Christmas's in Dana Point when the children were growing up. Surfboards from Killer Dana Surf Shop and Dewey Weber. I took an instant liking to these retro creations.
